I’ve had this little dream for as long as I can remember, but nothing about it makes sense because I have so much weight to lose. I have wanted to start a blog about weight loss for people that have more than 100 pounds to lose, but haven’t really known how to go about it. I knew for sure I didn’t want to be a blogger that posted disgusting pictures of my body when it is definitely not at its best, because I deserve better than that. I knew I couldn’t be a blogger that has lost an amazing amount of weight, because that hasn’t happened YET. I also didn’t want to come off as being a know it all. I do want to be someone that can go down the pathway to better health and bring others along for the ride. And oh what a ride it will be.
One thing I know about people that are overweight is that they already know they are overweight. They don’t need other people to let them in on the big secret. It makes me laugh when someone will say to me, “Have you ever thought about losing some weight?” Are you kidding me? It is on my mind 24 hours a day. People don’t even realize how much weight affects my life. Am I going to fit in the seats? I can’t find any cute clothes that fit me. I can’t keep up with my kids. I don’t have control of my life! And the list goes on and on.
The other thing I’m pretty sure about is that most overweight people are familiar with a lot of the different diets out there because they have been on most of them, or read about them. It’s not about having the knowledge, but about being able to execute it on a daily basis for an extended period of time. And if by some chance this is your first time trying to lose weight, that’s OK too. We all started at some point. This will be a great place to learn and get the support you need to be able to lose the weight, but even more importantly, keep it off.
I am not a registered dietician, fitness trainer, or anything else related to weight loss, but I am ready to change my life. I may not win every battle, but I am definitely going to win this war.
I hope you’ll come along with me on this little journey. I hope to build a community of people that come to feel comfortable in their own skin, learn to love themselves with life instead of chocolate, know they are valued individuals, be willing to share what works for them and get healthy in the process, and probably most importantly dare to dream!
Let’s do this together! We’ve got this!
